ABOUT ENGLISH ATLAS

English is the compass.
Japanese is the journey.

English Atlas maps Japanese for the JLPT, daily life, work, and care in Japan.
It helps learners see both the language and the road ahead.

OUR PURPOSE

A map is useful only when
it shows your next move.

A grammar explanation can be accurate and still leave a learner lost. We connect scripts, sentences, JLPT goals, and everyday situations so each guide has a visible destination.

The name English Atlas describes the method: English makes the route readable for an international learner; Japanese remains the language being learned and used.

HOW WE PUBLISH

How a field guide joins the atlas.

One editorial process from the learner's question to later revision.

01 / LOCATE

Define the destination

We begin with a concrete learner goal: pass a level, read a sign, visit a counter, or continue a conversation.

02 / MAP

Connect language and context

We organize the Japanese form, English explanation, social setting, and practical next step into one route.

03 / CHECK

Verify before publishing

We review examples, claims, sources, rights, safety boundaries, and the promise made by the title.

04 / REVISIT

Keep the route useful

We record changes, show update dates, and return to a guide when official information or reader needs change.

EDITORIAL POLICY

Four rules for a map
learners can trust.

Clarity matters. So do sources, boundaries, and the context that changes how Japanese is actually used.

01

Keep Japanese at the center

English explains the route, but every guide returns to Japanese form, sound, meaning, and real use. We do not turn Japanese into a list of English equivalents.

02

Make every important claim traceable

We prioritize official institutions, test organizers, public agencies, and established educational resources. References appear at the end of each guide.

03

Separate language support from professional advice

Medical, legal, immigration, and administrative guides help readers communicate. They do not replace current official instructions or qualified professional advice.

04

Show what changed and when

Each guide displays an update date. Drafts, reviews, and publication history remain in the editorial office so corrections can be prepared before release.

TRANSPARENCY

AI support and editorial responsibility.

English Atlas uses AI to support research organization, outlines, drafts, examples, and practice-question preparation. The editorial office reviews content, examples, references, and rights before publication. AI output is never treated as a source by itself.

Japanese changes with region, relationship, generation, and setting. JLPT details and public procedures can also change. Readers should check current primary information when a decision depends on it.

PRIVACY

How readership data is handled.

To improve the site, English Atlas counts public-page views and browser-level visitors. A random first-party identifier may remain in a cookie for up to 90 days to reduce duplicate counts. Readership records are also kept for up to 90 days.

The readership system does not store names, email addresses, IP addresses, search terms, or referring URLs. Only authorized editors can view aggregated results. Tracking is disabled when Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control is enabled.
